The Hungarian revolution
In October 1956, Hungarian students and workers, led by politician Imre Nagy, held protests against the Hungarian government along with the Soviet Union as a whole. These protests grew violent and led to a full scale countrywide rebellion. Unfortunately, Soviet forces crushed the rebels.
