The Warsaw pact was a political and military alliance formed Between Russia and some others Eastern European Countries. It was suppose to be a counter to NATO or the North Atlantic Treaty Oragnization. Which NATO was formed between the U.S., Canada, and some few other European countries. The feared outcome of a stronger NATO caused distress in the Soviet Union. That's what led to their independent agreement, the Warsaw pact. It included nations such as Russia, Albania, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania. Although there were some good influences for the Warsaw Pact to be made. For instance, the Soviets saw that a unification between the distraught Eastern European nations would be a positive thing, but they also believed it would tie them closer to Moscow.
Impact:
The Warsaw pact was another sucker punch from the Soviets. The United States is trying to create a unified organization which does worl (NATO). While the Soviets create a self centered organization. Mainly to help support communism, and to place Moscow at the center. This made tensions higher and the Cold War was starting. Especially since each major world power had created their own unifying agencies. Political leaders were unsettled.
